HOW WILL MY CHILD’S SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS BE MET?

Each child who comes to Burstow Park School is treated as an individual; almost all our pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), which will be used to inform our staff, enabling us to provide a holistic and bespoke approach to the education, care and wellbeing of pupils.

We have a safeguarding team, a SENCO team, a pastoral and inclusion team, as well as our teaching and teaching assistant teams.  Our highly experienced Leadership and Senior Subject Teachers will ensure that appropriate literacy and numeracy interventions are put in place and that progress is effectively monitored.

It is normal for most young people to experience worries, such as those surrounding developing friendships, navigating the cyber world, relationships, fitting in, etc.  The nurturing, safe, structured environment at Burstow Park will help to alleviate these worries as each pupil becomes part of the whole-school community.  We provide an open and inclusive environment in which being different, being an individual, is welcomed.
