Examination Results 2024
The Summer of 2024 saw a number of students (6) undertaking GCSE examinations across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, Biology Citizenship, and Art.
Successful outcomes enabled students to progress to positive destinations, with continuing with their secondary education, moving to Further Education, or undertaking Apprenticeships.
Prince’s Trust Achieve Programme
Burstow Park School is accredited to deliver the full Prince’s Trust Achieve Programme. All students have access to this each week and across 38 weeks it can lead to an award that is equivalent to two GCSEs.
Life Skills Open Awards
Life Skills is accredited through Open Awards. Units consist of various topics that cater to students’ individual interests, for example, animal care or hair and beauty. Pupils will receive an accredited certificate at the end of the award units, which is a recognised qualification.
Vocational Skills
Vocational Skills has recently been introduced to the curriculum. It allows pupils to develop their social and emotional skills in a more relaxed environment by taking part in activities in group sessions, for example, The Games, Song Writing, The Arts and The Build.
Post-16 Opportunities
For our older students who are post-16, we can offer the opportunity to improve their examination grades with our extended GCSE provision. A disappointing result can be improved upon with our supportive and tailored approach to learning.
For our post-16 students wishing to pursue college places or apprenticeships, we offer a bespoke careers advice service, which is tailored to the needs of each individual student.
